Following a tender called by the Yugoslav government nearly 16 years ago, a Russian consortium led by Energomashexport has won the contract to renovate the Djerdap 1 hydropower plant in Serbia. In addition, the consortium plans to increase the output of the plant’s six turbines from 171 MW to 190 MW. The estimated cost of the project is $100 million and it is expected to take 88 months to complete.
