Nordex has received a follow-up order for the second phase of the Syvash wind farm in Ukraine.

The company has received an order to supply 113 MW of wind turbine capacity for the second phase of Syvash. It will supply 29 turbines from its N131/3900 turbine series, it said.

In February 2019 Nordex said it had received an order to supply 34 wind turbines for the first phase of Syvash, marking its entry into the Ukrainian wind energy market.

On completion in 2020, the 246 MW Syvash wind farm will be the largest in Ukraine.

Nordex’s contract partner in the project is Powerchina Ltd., which will build the wind farm for local project company SyvashEnergoProm, a joint venture comprising the Norwegian project developer NBT AS and Total Eren, a leading French based renewable energy IPP.

The electricity generated from Syvash will be sold to state-owned company Energorynok – Ukraine’s wholesale electricity market operator.

The wind farm will be built in the region of Kherson, on the north shore of Lake Syvash.
