European Energy and Armstrong Capital Management have formed a joint venture to develop a 500 MW solar-storage pipeline in the UK.
The Copenhagen-based renewable energy developer said that it has “keen to re-enter” the UK energy market “for some time” and that Armstrong was “an established player with a strong pipeline of projects”.
Thorvald Spanggaard, Project Director at European Energy said: “We look forward to delivering hundreds of MWs of subsidy-free renewable energy projects in the UK with Armstrong in the coming years.”
European Energy has previously invested in the UK market, and also has investments in Europe and South America.
Steve Mahon, the Chief Executive of London-based Armstrong, said: “Armstrong is delighted to have reached agreement with European Energy for the funding of its UK development pipeline. In European Energy we have found a partner with an excellent track record of delivering high quality renewable energy projects, and who shares our belief in the long-term opportunities for solar and storage projects in the UK.”
