Construction of the plant, which employs a Siemens Energy 9000HL gas turbine, and claims an efficiency of 63% and “the ability to reach full power in just 30 minutes”, began in August 2018.
The Keadby site has been home to power generation for more than 70 years and the village of Keadby grew up around the original coal-fired power station. The new power station will help to “underpin a just transition for workers and communities in the region”, says SSE Thermal.
