F G Wilson has launched a new range of generating sets powered by the 403D-11G Perkins engine.

The new P9.5-2 / P7.5-2S range is said by its makers to offer a strongly cost-effective package and is being targeted at the telecommunications sector.

Recent efficiency improvements in this sector have resulted in an increased demand for more compact, lower rated generating sets. The new product has been designed as an economic choice to meet the changing power needs of the sector, whilst also being suitable for use in domestic applications.

The 403D-11G engine itself meets EU Stage II and EPA Tier 4 (interim) emissions regulations but the while the new range of gensets are being offered more or less worldwide they will not be offered within the EU, and will not be CE certified.

The company claims several benefits from the new range including lower operating and maintenance costs stemming from excellent fuel economy combined with 500 hour service intervals (as standard). It shares commonality of service filtration parts with existing FG Wilson products in the 6.8–22 kVA range, also powered by Perkins 400 Series engines.

It offers several options including a sound attenuated CAE enclosure (G-Series only), PowerWizard controls, enabled remote communications through additional mcm7 or mcm8, a water heater, battery charger and vandal proof lockable control panel cover.
