Gaz de France and Electricité de France have installed an experimental CHP fuel cell system that supplies 200 kWe and 220 kWth to Parisian suburbs in the Seine-et-Marne Department. The phosphoric-acid cell operates on natural gas. The US company ONSI manufactured the fuel cells. The FF5 million ($715 000) project has been led by the research centres of the two companies and additional financing also came from the Environment Authority.

The engineering companies Industelec / Ile de France and Sechaud et Metz, both subsidiaries of Electricité de France, managed the project.
