Unit 1 of the Temelin nuclear plant in the Czech Republic is scheduled to finally come on-line later this year. Loading of the fuel into the core was completed in July. Westinghouse Electric, owned by BNFL,manufactured and loaded the fuel for the CEZ-owned facility that is expected to begin generating in the autumn. Unit 2 is scheduled to start up in late 2001. Temelin units are Russian designed VVER-1000s, with Western I&C.
