The first integrated solar combined cycle (ISCC) in the world has received clearance for construction.

The 140 MWe ISCC project, which is to be located at Mathania in Rajasthan, will integrate solar power generation with combined cycle power generation.

The solar generation component will supply 35 MWe. The solar energy will be harnessed by solar mirror panels that are continuously tracking the sun and directing the heat towards heat collecting elements, converting water into steam in order to generate electricity.
