Towards the end of June Vestas reported a series of wind turbine orders for projects in Africa, Europe, Asia and South America to be constructed and commissioned during the next two years. In each case the order was accompanied by a contract for a lengthy Active Output Management 5000 (AOM 5000) service agreement.

• A 99 MW order from Aquila Clean Energy to deliver a full engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) solution for the wind energy project Akmene II in Lithuania. Vestas is also responsible for the project’s civil and electrical works. The project consists of 16 V162-6.2 MW wind turbines, and is an extension of the Akmene I 74 MW EPC project with 12 V162-6.2 MW turbines, which have already been commissioned.

Construction is expected to start at the end of 2024, and turbine delivery and commissioning are expected for the first quarter of 2026.

• A 114 MW order from SAB WindTeam for the wind energy project Ahlum-Dettum in Lower Saxony, Germany. Vestas will deliver 17 V162-6.2 MW and two V136-4.2 MW wind turbines, and the order includes supply, delivery, and commissioning of the turbines.

Turbine delivery is expected to begin in the second quarter of 2025 with commissioning scheduled for completion in the fourth quarter of 2025.

• An unnamed 95 MW wind project in Argentina. The order includes supply and installation of 21 V150-4.5 MW turbines.

• Renewable energy producer African Clean Energy Developments has placed a 144 MW order for the Umsinde Emoyeni wind farm, to be located in Western Cape, South Africa. The contract includes the supply and installation of 32 V163-4.5 MW wind turbines. Turbine delivery is expected by the first half of 2025 and commissioning is planned for the first half of 2026.

• Vestas and LEAG have agreed on a 105 MW order for the wind energy project ‘Forst-Briesnig II’, in Lausitz region, Germany. Vestas will deliver 17 V162-6.2 MW wind turbines, and the order includes supply, delivery, and commissioning of the turbines. The project, which is being constructed on former brown coal mining area, is the first for LEAG.

Turbine delivery is expected to begin in the fourth quarter of 2025 with commissioning scheduled for completion in the third quarter of 2026.

• A 45 MW order in Turkey. The contract includes the supply and installation of 10 V150-4.5 MW wind turbines. Turbine delivery is scheduled for the first half of 2025, while commissioning is expected to take place in the second half of the same year.
