The steam generators will leave from Kobe, destined for the Electrabel Tihange-2 pressurized water reactor southeast of Brussels. They are due to arrive at the end of next month (April). Replacement will be carried out during a summer outage at the facility.
In 1995, MHI supplied three replacement steam generators for Tihange-1. The company expects power generating capacity to be increased by around 10 per cent with the new units in place.
