The Egyptian Electricity Authority (EEA) has awarded a $2.2 million contract for meters, software and hand-held equipment to ABB Electricity Metering. The equipment will support EEA’s Time of Day metering scheme, to be conducted in eight EEA regions for a year. Egypt currently has an installed generating capacity of 16 600MW, 84 per cent of which is thermally based.
