Siemens Power Generation has won an order for up to 600 MW of wind turbines from US group FPL Energy, the wholesale generation subsidiary of FPL Group.
The German engineering group will manufacture, install and commission its 2.3 MW Mk II turbines beginning delivery in 2006. The deal is worth more than DKr3 billion (€402 million).
“This agreement with FPL Energy is important because it is the first wind power contract for our growing wind power business in the Americas region since Siemens acquired Bonus Energy last December,” said Randy Zwirn, president and chief executive of Siemens Power Generation Inc.
