A compact range of diesel gensets has been developed by Cummins Power Generation. They are the smallest sets to include the new B3.3G four cylinder water cooled engines and produce 28 kW and 40 kW output at 50 Hz and 1500 rpm. At 60 Hz there is a choice of 32 kW and 46 kW at 1800 rpm. Designed for tropical duties, the sets have a 50°C cooling system as standard, which renders them suitable for working in harsh envronments throughout the world. Other standard features include antibvibration mountings (to eliminate the need for bolting down), batteries, fuel lines, and a choice of two control systems (comprehensive and basic) with three different starting modules – basic key starting by hand, remote control, or automatic mains failure mode. Brushless alternators are an integral part of the set and provide ±1.5 per cent voltage regulation on full load. 8 hour fuel tanks, autotransfer fuel systems, high and low fuel alarms, earth fault protection and silenced enclosures are among the optional extras.
