Completion of this sixth phase, at a cost of AED5.51 billion, will take the total installed capacity of the solar park to 4660 MW. The current installed capacity is 2427 MW and a further 433 MW is under construction.
All phases of this landmark project are expected to be completed by 2030, representing a total investment of AED50 billion.
Masdar says it was selected for the sixth phase from 23 “high-calibre international bidders” and offered a levelised cost of energy (LCOE) of USD 1.6215 cents per kWh, the lowest for any of DEWA’s solar independent power producer (IPP) model projects to date.
