GE Energy has announced the shipment of its 100th 6FA gas turbine from Belfort, France. The recipient will be a new CHP plant in the city of Kurgan in Russia.

Intertechelectro-New Generation, an independent power producer based in Moscow, is owner-operator of the Kurgan plant, while PSG-International, an engineering, procurement and construction (company) is developing the project along with CJSC Intertechelectro.

The 6FA is a 77 MW class gas turbine, with a simple cycle efficiency of over 35% (55% in combined-cycle).

GE Energy has also recently opened a new technology centre in Belfort, the company’s European headquarters for the past 10 years and its international centre of excellence for the manufacturing of medium-sized gas turbines.
