The battery will participate in Belgium’s capacity market to help ensure the country’s long-term supply of power as it prioritises green energy and a commitment to shut down five of its seven nuclear reactors by 2025.
Centrica looks outside the UK
Alfen and Centrica are working together to build Centrica’s first battery storage development project outside the UK, a 24 MW/54 MWh facility to be located in Ostend on land at Ostend Basic Chemicals.
