Alstom’s GT26 also features in a new unit to be built at the CHP-26 site of Moscow utility Mosenergo. Work has recently begun there under a turnkey deal with Alstom.
The new combined cycle facility will have the largest capacity of any individual CHP unit in Moscow, 420 MWe and 265 Gcal/h of heat.
It is the first Russian combined cycle plant to be constructed on a turnkey basis by an EPC-contractor selected through tender. The project will be implemented in consortium with Russia’s Power Engineering Group Energo-machinostroitelny Alliance (EM Alliance). Alstom, which will deliver a multi-shaft combined cycle unit comprising a GT26 gas turbine, steam turbine, two generators, one heat recovery steam generator and the control system for the entire facility, will receive 170 million euro of the total 280 million euro contract.
EMAlliance will manage civil works and construction and will provide the balance of plant, including the cooling tower, electrical equipment, heat exchangers and piping for the district heating system.
When commissioned in the second quarter of 2009 the new unit will increase total capacity at the CHP-26 site to 1830 MW.
