Fibre Fuel Ltd has awarded a fuel handling contract to Redler Ltd for a waste fired project at a trading estate in Slough. The contract is part of an investment by Slough Estates to build a new power plant fired by waste paper and packaging material. The plant will generate around 11 MW of electricity for export to the local grid under a 15 year contract won under the fourth round of the UK’s Non Fossil Fuel Obligation set up when the UK power industry was privatised. The plant will also provide steam to an existing heat main which supplies around 50 factories on the state.
