The units will be part of a natural-gas-fired cogeneration system providing 62 MWe and 150 t/h of process steam, with duct firing, through heat recovery boilers downstream of the gas turbines. Operation is scheduled to start in 2020.

As with the previous Chinese H-25 orders, the new order was placed through Harbin Guanghan Gas Turbine Co, Ltd. (HGGT), a member of China Shipbuilding Industry Group.

The Dongguan factory currently has a coal-fired cogen facility but is switching to gas in response to stricter environmental regulations in China and measures to promote the use of natural gas.

Since the first order, in 1987, MHPS says it has sold over 180 H-25 machines worldwide (including this latest order).
