30 MWe for Mauritius

The Central Electricity Board (CEB) of Mauritius has recently ordered a 30 MWe 9K80MC-S two-stroke low speed diesel engine from MAN B&W for its power plant in Fort George.

The plant was built in 1996 with one engine. This proved succesful, and a second engine was added when the plant was extended in 1997. This current order, associated wqith a further expansion, will be the third engine for the plant. The engine will be produced under license by Hyundai Heavy Industries of Korea.
