Deutz plans to move up in gas

5 October 2002

Diesel and gas engine maker Deutz AG is responding to increasing global demand for decentralised generation by concentrating the resources of its Deutz Energy division on its core business of producing and selling power generation plant based on gas engines, for which environmental pressure and legislation have combined to increase the market.

The company's existing product range covers the range from individual gas engines with electronic control units through power units and block combined heat and power stations to complete systems for decentralised energy supply.

The company intends to take advantage of the increase in use not just of natural gas but also 'renewable' forms from industrial and agricultural sources such as waste dumps, sewage treatment works, coking plants and bio-gas plants.
