Alstom Power India has secured an order for the design, manufacture and supply of two 5.2 MW steam turbines for Germany. The order has been received from the Indian concern's sister company at Nuremberg, Germany, and will be fulfilled by the industrial steam turbine unit at Vadodara in Gujarat, India. Previously the company had supplied turbines solely for the Indian market. The company is keen to enhance its international reputation and is pursuing opportunities in South East Asia and New Zealand. Its turbines have been used in sugar industry applications, for cogeneration and in biomass and industrial plants.
