JCB Power Products has launched four models in its range of RS diesel powered gensets, specifically designed for the rental market. Powered by JCB’s DieselMax engine, the generators are said to employ high quality industry- recognised components, all fitted within a robust sound-attenuated canopy.

Features include the Stage IIIA compliant 4 cylinder DieselMax engine, the ‘LiveLink for Power’ system that can monitor and manage one generator or an entire fleet, and Mecc Alte alternators, which JCB says are delivering a 3-5% efficiency improvement.

The first four RS-branded generators from JCB will offer outputs of 60, 80, 100 and 125 kVA, the most popular power nodes for rental machines. The 60, 80 and 100 kVA models are powered by JCB’s reliable mechanically-controlled Stage IIIA compliant DieselMax engines, while the 125 kVA model has an electronically- controlled DieselMax. The generator design has been future-proofed, to accept engines up to Stage V emissions standards in the years to come.

The generator sets can be supplied with an optional engine coolant heater and battery charger for static installations, or an optional anti-condensation heater to ensure that the alternator remains dry between periods of rental.

Remote monitoring

The RS range is equipped with JCB’s ‘LiveLink for Power’ telematic system, to remotely monitor the generator or an entire fleet. This allows fleet managers and company owners to access operating data on all JCB generators working in the field.

Deep Sea Electronics (DSE) controllers are fitted on all models. The DSE 7310 provides an Auto Start Module, while the 7320 comes with a Mains Failure Module. These recognised controllers provide a user-friendly configuration with configurable display languages for global operation. A Deep Sea controller 8610 is available as an option, complete with synchronising and load sharing control module. This intelligent controller provides configurable inputs/outputs for multiple installation options.

The gensets are fitted with Mecc Alte alternators, which are considered by JCB to be 3-5% more efficient than many competitive brands. Standard automatic voltage regulators ensure seamless power back-up, essential for operations such as IT and data centre back-up and support.

The models are supplied in a robust, durable canopy that is Zinctec powder- coated for additional longevity, and includes a single integrated lift point. They are sound and weather attenuated, offering sound levels as low as 65dB(A) at 7m. Long run fuel tanks are standard.
