Picea sales campaign starts

16 May 2018

Berlin-based Home Power Solutions GmbH (HPS), has announced the start of sales and distribution of its Picea energy storage system, which it calls “the world’s first all-in-one unit to supply year-round power from the consumer’s own photovoltaic system.”

HPS says Picea is described as an “all-in-one” system, combining fuel cell, battery, electrolysis and hydrogen storage, with a high performance energy management system.

It is designed to contribute to heating as well as meeting electricity needs.

HPS says “the price for the first 50 Picea systems starts at 54 000 euro excl. VAT for the launch campaign”, but, remarkably, reports a “high level of interest”, such that, “even before the sales start, a waiting list has been set up.” HPS hopes to deliver its first systems from the fourth quarter of 2018
