Pöyry awarded owner’s engineer services for Kosova e Re coal project
19 September 2018Following an international competitive process, ContourGlobal has awarded Pöyry and its partner Ekonerg, an owner’s engineer services assignment for the Kosova e Re 500 MW coal-fired power plant project.
Kosovo’s GDP per capita makes it one of Europe’s poorest countries and inadequate electricity supply is a major problem.
The new plant will support energy independence and security. Kosova e Re will meet thelatest European standards and employ Best Available Technology. It replaces Kosovo A, one of the most polluting power plants in Europe, which dates back to 1962 and suffers from frequent outages.
