Seismic stable sets

UK genset packagers Centrax Gas Turbines are supplying three 5 MWe CX501-KB7 outdoor generator sets to President Foods manufacturing company in Taiwan for a combined heat and power installation. The order was placed by Rolls-Royce Australia, while installation will be carried out by AIDC of T'ai-chung under site management by Centrax.

The three 60 Hz 11.4 kV units will provide up to 15 MWe plus 35 MW of waste heat for the factory site, which is located in Tainan district and is the major producer of food products on the island. The units will have to achieve a specific seismic specification of 0.3 g, approximately 6.5 on the Richter scale, to meet local earthquake legislation.
