Elektro Privreda Srbije, the Serbian power utility, has placed a contract with Babcock Borsig Power (BBP) and Steinmuller Instandsetzung Kraftwerke for the overhaul of a 600 MW unit at the Nikola Tesla power plant at Obrenovac, 60 km from Belgrade. The value of the contract is E17 million. The unit is eighteen years old and fired with lignite. BBP's part of the project will include design, engineering and delivery of piping from the reheater to the turbine, replacement of the reheater and valves and the upgrading of the auxiliary boiler and electrical and control equipment. Startup is scheduled for mid-October and handover for 31 December this year.
