Sungrow supplies Ferrybridge

2 August 2023

Sungrow is supplying its liquid-cooled PowerTitan energy storage system for a 150 MW/300 MWh project in the UK on the site of the redundant Ferrybridge coal power station. It is the latest in SSE Renewable’s growing pipeline of projects and will be its second battery storage project to be delivered, with a 50 MW battery system already under construction in Salisbury, UK, due to be completed later this year.

Construction at Ferrybridge was due to start in May 2023, with grid connection confirmed for June 2024 and operation planned by October 2024.

Sungrow’s PowerTitan adopts advanced liquid-cooled thermal management and AI monitoring of the battery cells so as to safeguard system safety and ensure maximum lifespan.
