The sound of supersilence

20 September 1999

Cummins Power Generation has developed a new range of 'supersilenced' gensets, with prime ratings of 52-511 kVA. The new range features six new models aimed for the rental industry. The units have a number of features intended to provide easier maintenance, greater reliability and better access.

For example, extra large double skin fuel tanks reduce the number of site visits; quick access to the radiator for grill cleaning reduces maintenance man hours; and durable bodywork requiring less repair work.

The design also features quick and easy access to the connection points for fuel, cable link-up and for routine maintenance.

The engines are housed in an enclosure, which results in sound attenuation levels of 70-75 db(A).
