The first plant will be a 425 MW gas-fired combined cycle plant based on GT26 turbines.
Alstom will carry out project management, engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning and provide key power components, including a GT26 gas turbine, steam turbine, heat recovery steam generator and turbogenerator.
The second plant is a 65 MW steam plant at the same site, located in Fos-sur-Mer, near Marseilles, in Southern France. It will use waste blast furnace gas from a steel plant owned by Sollac, a subsidiary of Arcelor. Key Alstom components include a conventional boiler and an air-cooled turbogenerator.
Both plants are to be built on a turnkey basis and are scheduled begin commercial operation by November 2008.
