A floating power facility built for Ghana is still waiting in Italy for installation in a lagoon near the border with the Ivory Coast. The 125 MWe Seimens-built power barge had been due to begin generating last year, but was delayed by a lack of natural-gas fuel supply. The government of Ghana reportedly failed to secure contractors to build a gas-line to the facility from the Ivory Coast or Nigeria. Completion of any gas-transmission pipe is expected to take at least another year to 18 months.
