Finnish power generation company Jamsankosken Voima Oy has awarded a contract for a 185 MW bubbling fluidized bed boiler to Foster Wheeler. The deal is worth $19 million.
The boiler, which is designed to burn peat, bark, wood chips, sludge and oil, will be fired with both biofuels and waste derived fuels. It will generate steam and power for a paper-making plant.
Work on the boiler is expected to start early this year. Deliver, to the UPM-Kymmene Jamsankoski paper mill in central Finland, is scheduled for the spring of 2002.
