The projects, which will replace thermal generation, are the 11.7 MW Vuelta Hydroelectric Power Plant and the 19.8 MW Herradura Hydroelectric Power Plant.

The facilities, located along the river basin of La Herradura in Antioquia, Colombia, are to be built and operated local energy and communications company, Empresas Publicas de Medellin, with design input from Japan’s J-Power.

The developments are expected to reduce CO2 emissions by 68,000 tonnes per year.
