United Utilities has announced that it will close its Nor.Web digital powerline venture with Nortel Networks, which was established to allow high-speed data connections over existing electricity cables.
United Utilities said that, despite the proven ability of the DPL technology, the projected volumes and profitability were insufficient to justify continuation of the investment required.
