The two intend to cooperate with the joint development of nuclear generation, joint investment and reciprocal participation in nuclear assets, and management of electricity systems, an Enel statement said.

Fulvio Conti, Enel’s chief executive, commented: “We are enthusiastic about the opportunity to collaborate with the Russian Nuclear Energy Agency in the nuclear power sector that is becoming increasingly strategic. Our interest in the project is enhanced by the fact that RosAtom signs an MOI with a private company for the development of the nuclear sector in Russia and in Central and Eastern Europe.”
