Human error was to blame for plutonium being sent to Croft, which maintains containers to transport nuclear material. The plutonium should have gone to the La Hague nuclear facility.
Croft expected the container to be empty. No radiation leak took place, because the inner container was not opened. A review of procedures has been ordered.
