Fiat, the Italian car manufacturer and industrial group, is to spend $1.36 billion on the construction of electricity generating stations close to its domestic auto plants. Umberto Quadrino, executive vice president of Fiat SpA, said the company aims to become a significant player in Italy’s liberalising energy market, through international partnerships.
