Toshiba-GE Turbine Services Co formed in 1996 to serve the Japanese customers using GE-designed E and F class gas turbines. The two companies recently renewed the joint venture for another 10 years, including H machines.

The world’s first 9H system is operating at the Baglan Bay Power Station in Port Talbot, South Wales and three 50 Hz, 9H systems are being installed at unit 4 of Tokyo Electric Power Company’s Futtsu power station.

GE says its H system is the world’s first combined-cycle technology designed with the capability to reach 60% efficiency.
