The new plant is capable of burning 320t of rubbish each day. It will generate 25GWh each year. Emissions from the plant, tested by the Chinese Academy of Sciences, are said to be below that national emission limits.
The privately run facility has been cited by the state as a demonstration project for power from waste technology.
