Kajima Corp has announced that it has recently developed simulation software that is able to predict the direction and force of winds 10 times more precisely than had previously been possible.
The software is able to narrow down its focus starting from an area some several hundred kilometres wide in order to predict the movement of winds in a minimum unit of 100 sq meters. Other software programs have a minimum focus of 1 sq kilometre.
Kajima’s software can be used to select a location on which to set up a wind power plant. The company has said that it will use the program to help it to both optimise construction of wind power plants and to offer consulting services.
