Bangladesh will get an $18 million loan from the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development for the Greater Rajshahi Power Transmission and Distribution Project.

The project will provide power to Rajshahi and surrounding areas, through supply and construction of a 132/33 kV substation with total capacity of 50 MVA, and supply and construction of 11 substations with total capacity of 200 MVA. The project involves building 45 km of 132 kV transmission line, and about 500 km of distribution lines.
