Japanese company Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI) is to ship three replacement steam generators for a nuclear power plant in Belgium. Power generating capacity is expected to be increased by around 10 per cent. MHI supplied three replacement steam generators for Tihange 1 once before, in 1995.

The generators will leave from Kobe, destined for the Electrabel Tihange 2 pressurised water reactor southeast of Brussels and are due to arrive at the end of April. Replacement work will be carried out during a summer outage at the facility.
