PSEG Global has appointed Mott MacDonald to act as owner’s engineer for construction of a coal fired combined heat and power plant adjacent to an existing power plant in Chorzów, Poland. The station will supply 204 MW of electricity to the Polish grid and 500 MW of heat to the local district heating company PEC Katowice and will comprise two identical boiler/steam turbine units, utilising circulating fluidised bed combustion.
