The Las Vegas Valley Water District and Nevada Power Company have signed contracts with PowerLight Corp to develop a 3.1 MW solar power project, one of the world’s largest. Four systems at the Water District’s Las Vegas Springs Preserve and three at reservoir sites will comprise the system. The project is expected to become operational in 2005 and has a lifespan of at least 30 years.
