Nordpool has announced an alliance with ESIS, a subsidiary of National Grid Co. of the UK to develop an on-line, internet-based trading platform.
The UK Energy Exchange will also be developed by Altra Energy Technologies of the US, a leading trading system company.
The exchange is expected to become operational in the third quarter of this year as the UK review of trading arrangements is completed and the trading systems are rolled out. It will offer forward and spot trading via an internet or dedicated telecommunications link.
