Privatisation of the 3645 MWe Ratchaburi power station is under way. Despite the low price, there were signs that industrial third party interest in the power sector in general could spawn a new wave of investment in IPP activity.

The share listing price was based on a discount on the value of the company’s 25 year electricity purchase agreement with the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT ).
