A proposal to build a new substation connecting Romania to Hungary’s power grid has been announced by the Romanian company Translectrica. The 400 kV station will be able to carry up to 800 MW, with traffic expected to be two way.
Equipment for the new substation will be supplied by Siemens. Eventually the link will connect Romania to UCTE, the grid of the European Union states.
