Cross-border trade agreements bwteen China and Russia could see as much as 50 TWh of Russian power delivered to China through the far east.

An agreement with the Chinese state energy corporation may be signed by late June, according to some reports from the country. An existing agreement will see around 500 MWh transferred this year, but additional capacity would be required to deliver the power as set under the new deal.

The first such supplies are not expected until 2011 or 2012.
