Siemens Gamesa has been able to restart production at its production sites in Spain after the government eased restrictions put in place to combat the coronavirus pandemic.
The wind turbine manufacturer was forced to close factories across the country after the government forced all non-essential activities to stop at the end of March.
The move affected the company’s production lines in Lerma, Burgos, Somozas, Agreda and San Fernando de Henares, where it produces blades, gearboxes, nacelles and other equipment.
It had been able to maintain some of its activities for the supply and repair of components throughout the lockdown, it said.
SGRE says it will continue to enforce strict safety measures at the facilities to protect workers, including social distancing and reorganisation of workflows and shift patterns.
