Alcatel signed a contract with Hormuzgan of Iran to supply a submarine cable composed of two XLPE with three 20 kV conductors, plus optical fibres integrated in the cable for communications applications.

The two cables will run 8.75 km to Hormuzgan Island in the Persian Gulf.

The cable will be buried in the seabed from end to end using the Capjet system – developed by Alcatel in Norway – to protect it against impact and other hazards.
